There are some sessions where I feel the weight of how important photography can be, and this combined fall senior family session was no exception.
Amanda and her daughter were celebrating an eleventh birthday, a doctorate degree, and an updated yearly photo remembering Amanda’s late husband.
Not only were these two some of the SWEETEST people I have ever met, but the Will Rogers Park came out to play with beautiful golden hour lighting!
The leaves reflected the yellow glow. The breeze through the trees was cool enough to keep everything comfortable. And it may have just been my pregnancy nose at the time but it just SMELLED crisp.
We spent the session laughing, mainly at my husband Barron who tagged along to help carry gear, and getting to know each other.
Amanda is a licensed family and marriage therapist practicing in Lawton, Oklahoma. With this doctorate, she will be able to better serve her clients and the local community. Her kindness and empathy will absolutely take her far in this field.
Her daughter was such a delight as well, with her sweet nature and excitement for her mom’s big achievement, along with remembering her father in their annual photo.
Even with these three huge milestones, the thing that stuck out the most to me was the relationship between these two. In these photos, especially the ones with both of them, I see so much love between this mother/ daughter duo (my favorite is the last one!)
As I write this blog almost two years later (I get behind, I know), I am reminded again of how privileged I am to capture these moments and relationships for people. The amount of trust I feel granted to see a little glimpse into people’s lives is not something I take lightly.
