I can't say I love photography without saying that I think the prints are just as important. It makes it real. Makes you FEEL. There is no scrolling past it to escape it. No one to know if you "like" it. It's how we used to live with photographs, even if it was only when your mom pulled out the shoebox under her bed to show the person you're dating all your old baby pictures.
One may think the life of a photograph is limited to the time the button on the camera is pressed to when the image is seen by a viewer. However, I fully believe photographs were meant to be held, shared, loved, and appreciated. In this digital age it is difficult to fully live with these fleeting moments, but prints make it possible to transform these brief seconds from finite to eternal.

I am so thankful to live in a tech age that has made life easier in so many ways (hello dishwashers). However, I don't believe we should ever move blindly forward without remembering where we have been. Film is that. It's not only what our parents used, but is how photography came to existence. All the grain and "imperfections" are partly why I think it is important to keep this art alive.
