For Emily and Trent’s reception at Capitol View in Oklahoma City, we were able to sneak away for just a few minutes before the sun went down to get some stunning rooftop photos!
With the downtown OKC skyline in the distance, sun getting low, and the hustle and bustle of others below, the recently eloped husband and wife were able to take a breath and have a moment to reflect on their new lives together.
As the sun continued to lower and we were overlooking the thousands of busy lives below us, it was easy to reflect on how small we all are. How we are all just humans having relationships and problems and breakfast for dinner.
When we made our way back down the elevator and the noise of the party grew louder with each step, the mood shifted from one of intimacy and love to celebration and joy. The dynamic switched from one between two people to one with many people.
Friends from college catching up after a long period apart…
Mothers chasing their toddlers on the dance floor…
Grandparents who have seen this cycle of growing up and marriage more than once…
It’s easy to forget in our daily lives how it’s these small interactions that become habit that make up our perspective of the world.
All of these are things I’m extra grateful for to witness.
