There are some families that feel like home—and the McIntosh family is one of those for me. I’ve known them my entire life, and having the opportunity to photograph their extended family session in Madison, MS felt less like work and more like spending time with my own second family.
This session took place at the most beautiful location—Mr. Rusty’s brother’s private farm in Madison, Mississippi (which I actually visited several times growing up!) Rolling green fields, wooden fences, and even a few horses created the perfect backdrop for timeless family portraits. The golden light paired with their easy laughter made it a dream to capture.
What made this session extra special was seeing the boys who were quite literally my “brothers from another mother” standing as men, husbands, and fathers. Seeing Mr. Rusty and Mrs. Susan beam with pride as they held their grandbabies and watched their sons lead their own families was incredibly full-circle.
Photographing extended family photos in Madison, MS is always a joy, but doing so with a family that means so much to me made this session especially meaningful. It was a reminder of how important it is to slow down, gather together, and preserve these moments—before little ones grow up and seasons shift.
Thank you, McIntosh family, for trusting me with your memories and for being exactly who you are: warm, genuine, and full of joy!
