It seemed like any other cool, December evening for Meri’s senior session at Midwestern State University. The air was brisk, but not frigid, the campus was fairly empty, and in the courtyard one could see statues of horses, paused forever in mid-gallop.

Unlike those statues, though, Meri had just completed a huge jump in her life that she will not forget anytime soon.

I can only imagine the late nights she spent in the Centennial building that we did her session in front of.

Or the times she probably sat at one of the tables in the courtyard reflecting on how this is such a short time of her life.

Or how many times it all seemed so overwhelming and that the assignments would never end.

It goes by fast.

One minute you are bright eyed and filled with excitement and anticipation as a new student walking onto campus. Then you blink. Now you are having your senior pictures taken as a final goodbye to the last few years of your life.

No need to mourn for too long, though, as the next adventure now awaits.

For Meri, she hopes to work as a psychiatric nurse and helping patients who absolutely need her kind heart and compassionate soul.

I have no doubt that big things are in store for Meri as she pursues her career.

A friend to one of my previous senior session at Midwestern State, Blandine (check out that blog post here), I know that the healthcare industry is blessed to have both of these ladies included among their ranks. I am so privileged to have met both of these awesome women, and I wish them so much luck in their lives!
