After having to reschedule the original date for Ashley and Zach’s engagement session at the Wildlife Refuge due to weather, we couldn’t have planned a more perfect day.

We rode out to the Parallel Forest first on a beautiful mid 60s day. One thing that is so great about doing sessions during this time is that it is the perfect mixture of not too hot or too cold. (Goldilocks approved) We were able to dive in to getting to know each other as we began the session.

Even though there were bugs that may or may not have slammed into some of our faces, (nature, am I right?) the love between Ashley and Zach was evident everytime they would smile.

And let’s be real, we did LOTS of that.

I even discovered a new way to always make sure we get those genuine smiles. The secret? Bring my husband along and say “all right, now look at Barron!”

For those who don’t know, Barron and I are best friends and are about as weird as they come. Together, we make the ultimate weirdo dynamic and are pretty much guaranteed to give you a session and a show! Ashley and Zach are just two of many that can confirm this as they saw firsthand during their engagement session.

After the Parallel Forest we made our way up to the top of Mount Scott where we were able to also capture the gorgeous sunset. It was the perfect way to end the session, even if I did trip on a rock.

I can’t wait to document their wedding day this coming March and be able to share their story. It truly is such a privilege to be trusted with milestones such as these. I am so excited for them in their journey!
