As soon as Matt and Jill got out of the car, I knew they were going to be fun. They were already giggling and cracking themselves up before we even started their engagement session at the Wichita Mountains! Now THAT’S what I love to see.
These two you could tell are best friends. As we went through our locations at the Refuge, they went out with wide eyes and enthusiasm. Between the giggles and nose kisses, you could tell there was nothing that made them more excited than the thought of their wedding date coming up.
These are some of the things that get me the most excited to do engagement sessions, especially when they are as cute as these two. It’s the notion that everything is about to change, but in an exciting way. You are about to start a whole new journey with someone you love! Engagement sessions not only allow you to be able to get to know your photographer before the big day, but also it is a time for you and your boo to focus on the love you have together. Let’s be real, it’s not everyday that you have some stranger telling you every five seconds to look deep into your lover’s eyes. 😉
If anything, it’s an excuse to feel up your person a little more than usual. The more the merrier, right?
One thing I always encourage my couples (or anyone, for that matter) is to treat yourselves after your session. Want some ice cream? Do it! Have a nice dinner and a meal? Why not! You’re already dressed up for it. These are ways to not only continue the sweet vibe you got into at your session, but also to remember why you ARE getting married. Make it a day to reconnect and have some alone time before the stressful season of wedding planning gets here.
You’ll thank me later 😉
